How to build an awesome Facebook page for your business?

We have been exploring Twitter a lot recently, so we decided to focus on the other heavy weight in the Social Media category, Facebook. With more than a billion members and a penetration rate of 67% in the USA (and even higher abroad, like in the UK with 87%) (Source Business Insider) the social network created by Mark Zuckerberg is the highway for Social Media Promotion. But it is not as easy as it seems to get a Facebook page that drives traffic, and improves sales and SEO. You will find here a few tips to get your Facebook page right on track.

1. Goals and Objectives

First thing first you have to know where you want to go. This may seem trivial, but most of the biggest fails as a matter of Social Media management come from a bad orientation of the page. So make a list for you, asking yourself why am I on Facebook? Then What am I going to do here? Who am I going to talk to? And how am I going to do all that?
Once you get answers to these questions, you can start building the page for your business. All the actions you will take from now on will be guided by the guidelines you gave yourself, because nobody knows your business better than you.

2. Build the page

We have the guidelines, let's build your page. Make sure that you fill every area of information (it will help the search). 3 main points to pay attention to: profile picture, timeline and about section. These 3 components will be the display of your Facebook page, and the problem with the first impression is you can give only one...

3. Post regularly

As a background task, a regular posting keeps the page alive and give a good impression of your page. Make sure you post regularly, at the same time, to give to your timeline a linear flow of posts. Too much posts will have a negative effect.

4. Spread the word

Now that you know where you are going, what to post and when to post, you need to spread the word. We often recommend our clients to invite their close circle of friends to like the page. This first ring of people will be the one sharing your content in the first time, and become kind of the ambassadors of your brand. Then the next step is becoming an actor on your news feed. All the people and pages that you liked, the ones that you take the content from will become your main arena of expression. Engage people, comment articles, ask questions, all these social actions will bring people to your page. Outside of Facebook, promote your page by setting up a like button on your website, write your Facebook page link on your email signature, business cards and basically any outside communication.

5. Motivate the audience

Your timeline kicks ass, your posts are relevant and the content is sharp, the name of your Facebook page is everywhere and the audience still grows slowly. The audience need to be attracted, motivated. The best way to do so is to create an event, a contest. A nice landing page on Facebook encouraging people to like the page to win a significant price is always a good way to keep your page interesting, and by doing so you will attract a lot of fans.

For this kind of contest you have to be sure that you have a landing page dedicated to this contest, with clear rules and explain the method of selection for the winner(s). Be very careful and make sure you respect Facebook rules in matters of contest.

So to summarize nice presentation, good content posted regularly, engagement and entertainment. Take it EZ
